Aha......I'm back from the camp....
It was fun ..Being one fo the usual camps, but it was different this time as I had to lead a group, with 7 people in it.. including myself...
aiyo, big headache la...because I had to manage quite a lot of stuff but it was fine as my members were very very kind and cooperative..thanx to all you guys and gurls!!!!
on the first day itself (or rather evening actually), we were there late as the bus was supposed to have been arranged by our classmates, but due to unforeseen circumstances,it was not and we had the pleasure of playing ASSHOLE CHO TAI TI!! How often do you get to call your mate an asshole AND he does NOT get mad at you? huh?
so we reached there after about an hours bus ride.we were bz acting out movie titles in the bus with one particular friend of ours acting out "THE MAN WHO INVENTED BREAST IMPLANTS".
We walked about 200 metres in with our HEAVY backpacks!!Groan!!
Once we reached the campsite,we were greeted by the trainers. We had some games testing our level with cooperativeness amongst the 27 of us.Was quite interesting as we had to turn an inward facing circle into an outward facing one without breaking the chain of hands.
Then the fun part began, WATER CONFIDENCE!!! No!!!!!!Because I can't swim....DUH! We had life-jackets ...fine I'm saved...I think...Go down the lake...Ok,going down slowly..Hang on to the rope...That's easy, right?Where's the confidence?....Leave the ropes....No,gulp,no,I can't do this,gulp,help......Relax..You try relax when you dunno how to swim!!!...
That was how I was for the first 5 minutes before I actually gained some confidence of being in aqua-land.We were given 1 hour to get ready before the next set of activities began..The girls went to have their baths first while we(the guys) got ready...They got back and it was our turn to clean up...shower time...!!!sounds like fun..no!!!!I don't normally have cold baths...and I was literally screaming my head off ..since it was already dark and cold...
Dinner was fun...We had sausages and fish balls..and chicken burgers and boiled potatoes....yum yum..and we did have a few scavengers (ahem!!!)..no la..not scavengers but a bunch of hungry people...get your own food la..!!!!! (snicker...)
Then we had some crap talk about how to complete the DOE programme..no offence but I was actually yawning when that guy was speaking...I think the rest were too as no one asked any questions at the end of his speech..
We were taught to read the compass, being given a demo by Bee Tee.The next mission was to set the bearings for the other groups so that they would have to move from station to station.So-so la...We had the chance to abseil from a 4-metre slope. It was new to me and quite painful also...because...(ask me) this is not for the public to know ..Sorry..:-)
Then we slept after trying to keep awake, playing cho tai ti and UNO.I slept the earliest...zzzzzz....
(to be continued....)
