It's been almost 4 months since I joined the Student Council(SC) and I feel that every person in that council deserves to be in their respective positions (including me of course, hehe!!).
When I attended the initial interview conducted by the SC, I mentioned that there was very little publicity of the existence of the SC and the activities conducted by them. And then I was barraged with a continuous flow of info regarding the programmes held by the SC, from the Orientation programme for the new intakes to the major events like TARANA nite and Mr. and Ms. KDU. I then felt that there was very little gratitude given in return for all the hard work put in by the members to make an event successful. So why join the SC?
Even then, I was forewarned that no certificate will be given to ordinary members of the council. I feel that it is better to give then to take, and there is so much to learn, experience and cherish! You get to have friends from different schools, from BUSINESS to FIMT, jokers to artists etc. It's like being in one big (minus the happy) family la!!
Of course there are the usual minor rifts between the members occasionally, but we DO manage to work things out pretty soon after that. But sadly, some of the members ( the H & T guys ) are away for the moment because they have their industrial training going on in hotels around the country. Miss those guys la, because those they were my main kaki in SC. :(
To me, I've learnt that communication is the most essential skill to survive and to contribute to your peers in a group. People around you need to understand your needs and your feelings so that you don't feel left out. And the instructions given by the senior members need to be precise too.
There's a going to be a new recruiting session by the SC soon, and you know what to do, if interested k?
Long live SC!!!
KDU BOLEH!!
Btw, Selamat Hari Merdeka!
