Short lived new host

Don't think I can find a better host la...neway..this was my post at xanga.com/gulu9...don't recommend xanga.com..because u can't put in your own template for free...only available for premium users....

So this is my new blog....because I found that I could not actually see my ex-blog anymore when I downloaded a new template from Blogskins.
This entry is dedicated to all Ipohites.
Ipoh is a wonderful place to live in. Just figured it out during my last visit there last weekend. You see, my brother was down from India and since he was gonna be here only for a month or so,I decided to pay him and my mom a visit.
So, I got on the bus( Konsortium Sdn Bhd) at 12.30 pm in Pudu. And as the bus was about to leave the bus driver comes in and mumbles something like ".....Medan Gopeng.....tidak akan pergi...Medan Kidd...."
Recently, there was this big hoohaa about the Ipoh Bus Station. It was originally located in the heart of town in Medan Kidd, which was rather an odd location as there was a school right behind it and there were inadequate parking lots for buses. Parking spaces for cars was out of the question. And so, the government decided to build this new station somewhere away from town and more convenient( in the government's view), and so Medan Gopeng was born. Now, the real problem was that the bus companies refused to move to Medan Gopeng, because of its odd location( in the passanger's and bus companies' view). But some companies like Transnasional and Konsortium agreed.

Back to me,I was more engrossed in my book, so I didn't really pay much attention to what he was saying. Then I dozed off....zzzzzzzzzzzzzz....
The next minute, I'm up, gathering my senses. Realized I'm still on the bus, it was now at a rest area along the highway. As I was trying to make out at which stop were we, my eyes caught hold of this white piece of paper stuck just below the luggage compartment, above the passanger seat. And it said that the bus would go to Medan Gopeng and not to Medan Kidd.
And that meant trouble, as I had no idea where this place was but I was pretty sure that it was NOT in Gopeng. So I called my uncle and notified him about my predicament. Thank god, he knew the place and got there in no time.
Reached my grandma's place, greeted grandma, aunty, mom, bro and uncle.Spoke to grandma for an hour or so.Washed up and rushed to the PC to check out what new games my bro had brought for me.Caught a movie on tv and the next oniute I was having dinner at a Chinese restaurant.
Yummy!!Pork ribs,siakap fish,whote rice and some chicken.
Then the my uncle, bro and me left for a new pub called Collina's, somewhere in Ipoh. Was there for like 4 hours, doing nothing but drinking 7up and coke(not time yet for me to drink in public with my uncle's friends!!He encourages me to drink with him,but i rather take my time) and sharing sharing football stories. Spent the last 1 hour listening to my uncle's friend's disgust at the sacking of Bobby Robson, the ex-manager of Newcastle United. Sounds like I'm whining, huh? Iwould have enjoyed the night out, but the problem was that I had class at 8 am that very morning, and so I don't feel that it was wrong for me to bug my uncle to take us home.
Went to bed straightaway, when I reached home, coz I really couldn't stand it.And my bro wasn't helpful coz he still wanted me to open the gate when we reached home, and he wouldn't buy my reason that I was TIRED!!! sigh....
The next day was a bit more exciting. Looked forward to futsal that very evening. Was on the PC for practically the whole day when, till my uncle got back. High spirits. Futsal. Scored a goal. Let in three. Made a few good saves and fouled my other uncle.
Good sweat. Caught the Arsenal-Bolton match. Haha..losers=Gunners. Frankly speaking, you guys should have lost. And MU beat Liverpool. So glad......sigh of relief....
Caught the bus back to KL at 1.30 pm. Had a heavy brunch as I got up late after playing CM4 till 2am.Unc,mom and grandma were there to send me off. Dozed off till reached the Damansara toll exit. Bye bye Ipoh.....
Why is Ipoh great? Fantabulous? Or simply perfect?
Because it's simply growing like nobody's business. Although it is often referred to as a sleepy hollow, it's got a few mega projects coming up including the new Sunway City in Tambun, A brand-new Tesco outlet in Ipoh Garden.
And everything is spread out.Not congested like KL, and I feel that the idea of Putrajaya of becoming as the administrative capital of Malaysia came from Ipoh
I LOVE IPOH!!!

That school behind the Kidd Road station is the Anglo-Chinese School ... my alma mater! Ipoh is my childhood place ... I love Ipoh too! Konsortium; I take that too though not always. I like the single seat arrangement inside the bus, only trouble is you got to go all the way to Puduraya to buy a ticket whereas for Transnational, you could buy the ticket at the Petronas station within spitting distance from the campus.

Cool! How come you didn't attend St. Michael's?
Thought of getting the ticket from Petronas but wasn't sure what time I would've left the college.Had a late night that Thursday..

Thanks for dropping by,fishtail!!

You probably find this hard to believe, but my parents' first choice for me was St Michael's Institution (nearer to house), but I was not accepted because ... and get this, we were not Catholics. Maybe I should have included this under the "Mother of Excuses" post.

Such bias....Didn't think of that as my uncles got in to St. Michael's during the 70s.I shall ask them about this weird admission requirements..

Thanks for dropping by fishtail!
