Chain reaction

Happy merdeka to all you Malaysians out there!

We are 48 years old officially but, by right we should only be only 42 years old as Malaysia was only formed in 1963, whereas Malaya was formed in 1957. That was the complaint of Sabahans in a write-up in a local daily. It's a pity that after all these years, we seem to forget that East Malaysia is part of Malaysia as well.

And sometimes there are people in this country who don't realise how important some things mean to other people. Like the saying, one man's food is another man's poison.
The story goes like this.

Our very own Sports Commissioner deregistered the national taekwondo body due to some rules that were breached by the body in running the organisation. So, he took the simple step.

He got it deregistered.

And there was this taekwondo contingent from BJSS. They had planned to participate in the Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships in Kazakhstan long before this matter occurred.
When they were greeted by the officials there, they were notified that they couldn't take part as they didn't have a national body at that point of time ( as in the Malaysian Taekwondo Association).

They went home dejected and some of them had even gone through the pain of training though they were injured. All because of some guys who thought that it was a simple matter of deregistering a rebellious organisation. Sigh...

One way or the other, everything we do will affect someone else. Something like a chain reaction and it might cause either grief or bring joy to the people around us, either directly or indirectly.

Think wisely before you act.
