Night(s) out in Chinatown
Another musical last week. This time it was STOMP. They were in Malaysia before I left but I didn't manage to catch them because there wasn't enough time and I was not yet into musicals.
After the show, the 9 of us decided to head towards Chinatown and have some light supper.
And I thought of it as a replacement of the "mamak" culture in Malaysia.
We could now just go there and have our meals or just a light drink and go on with our story-telling, like we would do at a "mamak" restaurant.
Wong Kei was we finally ended up as all the other eateries were full.
I had some Wan Tan Mee.
And we could see everyone was opening up, as in revealing his and her true nature.
Before this, it was like we only met in between lectures and classes and everyone is just formal. A hi-bye kind of nature.
But tonight, it was different.
And yes, did we laugh a lot. Especially at James.
We left the place at midnight and walked back to our halls. I was too tired ( actually lazy) to walk back to mine so I just crashed at my friend's place .. ( Thanks Rashid!)
I was also at Chinatown earlier in the week. This time I met my aunt who lives in Zone 3 but she's working near Angel Station. Meeting her for the 1st time, thought I've seen her before, never actually got the chance to talk to her.
She's at an IT firm and has been in London for 27 years. So, I was given all the useful advice and the necessary info I needed to know. We had nasi lemak and teh tarik...Malaysian food at last...At least it has some taste, unlike the Brits' who are used to their bland food..
And she had lots of stories to share, from the Malaysian Immigration officers to the London bombings. Kept me glued to her stories and she really had interesting stories!!
Nice to have some relative around, in case anything happens.
Chinatown made my week.
Till then..
