Warwick Day 2

So, the next morning the 3 of us got up around 10 am. Adelynn made us some breakfast, we had toast with ham, Cadbury ice cream etc. Stomach was full. So that was a good start to the day.
Hehe..

And the sad part was that Adelynn and Hannah couldn't join us as they had their final rehearsal that morning for the actual thing later on in the evening. They gave us directions how to get to Warwick town.

According to Adelynn, there's nothing much in Coventry except for Nando's.
So there were 7 of us, Azzwaa, Dania, Meenal, Zhi Xin, Chong Lee, Rashid and me.
We took bus U1, a bright pink one to Warwick town. Cost us 2 pounds each.
Nothing much to see along the way except for fields, green fields.

After about 30 minutes, we came to a town with white buildings (that was the clue given, as in where to get down ) .
Warwick town was just a straight road. Nothing much in it. Reminded me of Lunas.
Anyway, we got down, headed towards the Information Centre.
Not much info there. Headed for some gardens. Called Jephson Gardens.

Some photos, walked around a bit. Enjoyed the fresh air.

Around trees.

And grass.

And ducks.

And hide-and seek. (huh?)

It was me being me; ie. getting in the way of Zhi Xin's shot.

(Note: We could've made this into an animated feature, you know, flipping the pictures close by to make look as if it was happening real time)

=)

Back to the main story,

We had lunch at this bar the 5 of us, as Dania and Azzwaa left earlier to get something for Fadia who was coming later in the day.

Fish and chips (3) , chicken tikka masala and some vege dish were on the table. So-so, nothing exceptional about the food there.

Walked around a lil' bit and then we caught the bus back to Warwick Uni. Before we got on the bus, met Sean, Steph, Chun Huey and Vinoth. They had just arrived in Warwick town.

What a coincidence! Back at uni at 4 pm, Sze Ing called asked where were we. Said we were going to the Arts Centre as Zhi Xin and me had to see Adelynn so that we could go back.

Adelynn had finished her rehearsals, and we all walked back together to Lakeside, where we stayed. Totally forgot about Sze Ing as she came there waiting for us.

Sorry Sze Ing!

Back to room. Short rest. Plan what to cook for dinner. Cooked, played cards, and dinner was ready.

Went up to Hannah's unit as Dania was there having her dinner, so we decided to follow her up there. Makan some tandoori chicken and baby corn and lettuce. Finished it in 20 mins.

That's record time for me. 20 mins!

But, that was still too long cos we were still at Lakeside at 7.15 pm.

The show was starting in 15 minutes. Rashid and Meenal called, wondering where I was ( I love being fashionably late, makes me feel important) . Told them was on the way.

Reached at 7.35 and this show had started right on time. That's commendable, not falling into the category of usual Malaysian timing of starting late.

Got seats at the back, quite far but later on I appreciated this as I could see everything from up here then down there.

Among the shots,

Malay dance.

Note that the girl in the centre had very slender arms and moved them to th rhythm as if she was limbless. So graceful till it freaked me out. This was the opening number by the way.

Indian dance

No idea what they were thinking of, more gloss then class. Was quite bad actually. Only consolation, I loved the song.

Dikir Barat

The best performance of the night, no doubt. Well- coordinated and loved the songs. The 1st girl, the tukang karut had a lovely voice.

That's it about the performance.

Later on that night, hung about the lobby of the art's centre. Some old friends, some new ones.

Till we decided to move to Jason's place. Went out of his way to welcome us into his room. He gave us orange squash and fries. Actually, fries were Rashid's.

Around 12, left Jason's room said good bye. Left everybody home before we went back to Lakeside. I was tired, walking about the whole day. Worth the time and money coming all the way to Warwick though. Quite happening, and it was quite a large scale event.

Nothing much the next morning. The "plan" was to visit the Bard's place of birth. But then, it was so cosy in Adelynn's room. And me, not being the most excited of persons to see the Bard's place. Having Zhi Xin trying so hard to convince me that it was not worth the rush to do all these things in such a short time, I gave in to him. See Zhi Xin, I can be tolerant also. Lol!

Bus at 4.30 pm, had the whole group on the bus. Dania, Zhi Xin, Meenal, Sze Ing, some girl I'd seen before and other Malaysians and me. Slept in the bus.

Back to London.

Till then.

Ps. Special thanks to Zhi Xin for the photos.
