Poker and me
Was feeling a little down last week to reasons known to some, and so I decided to join some James and co. for poker at his place, after dinner at TBT.
There were more new people there, and we sort of started off the poker round. (with chips of course)
With my unpredictability and the seriousness of other players. you could sort of imagine how pissed of they were when I actually won a few rounds which seemed practically impossible at first.
For instance, I had a 2 and a 3, and these other guys had much stronger cards, and I called (ie matched the bets placed) every single time.
And by the end of the fifth card being dealt in the middle, there was a 1, a 4, a 5, and to other cards which I choose not to remember.
There was only Justin and me left and he "all in"-ed me as I had very few chips left and so I accepted his challenge as if you noticed my cards, I had a straight (ie a sequence) in hand.
He showed me his cards, he had 2 pairs, and so I was back in the game.
But seriously, no one would ever call any bet if he had a 2 and a 3. And so that pair of cards were appropriately named the "Deepak's hand".
Sort of a lucky night, with my wickedly confident ways of conning and convincing paying off almost every other round.
Definitely would be attending the mini casino on Chinese New Year!
Till then.
