On the very next morning, I got up at 7 in the morning and much to my amazemnet I found most our my campmates awake, very much earlier then me.Personally I feel that they did not get enough sleep themselves,although I would like to apologize to my group members as I occupied half the tent as one them claimed. Sorry!
We had bread and peanut butter for breakfast in the morning, which was quite filling as we were about to embark on a hike to the waterfall.We left circa 9 am and we walked with our 'light' bags as the trainers allowed us to keep our unnecessary stuff behind.We walked in a long straight line, in pairs and I was paired with all of people..this one particular girl which I get along fine but not HERE,in the jungle...
Anyway,as we trudged along,we enjoyed the nature of beauty and man-made stuff like the magnificent man-made pond that looked so tempting to dive in.A few pix here and there.A few leaches were quite hungry as they fed on my mates' blood..yummy!!And there were those bunch of fellas who "Eeee!!" and "Oooo!!" at the site of the leach and saying "Kill it!!" and "Don't let it come near me!"After that beautiful sight,we went to the actual jungle,where we were trained to become tight-rope walkers as the path was not that wide for us to walk and considering that we had a substantial amount of weight on our backs.Fallen logs and branches blocked our way as we jumped over them and crawled under them
(NOTE:There is some exaggeration)
Finally, we reached our next checkpoint,or rather the only one.We were given tasks,that is building all the gadgets using bamboo and twigs from the trees.
My group had to make,
* A shelter
* A fish trap and a fish net
* A tripod for cooking and a normal tripod
* 3 traps on land
* 3 spears
I managed to divide the tasks among the members equally ( a sense of pride and satisfaction here).The girls were assigned to make the fish net,the guys were told to build the shelter and the three land traps.The rest of the tasks were completed with help from both sides.We stopped for lunch after completing most of the tasks,and we finished the tripod last.
Then, the fun began.The waterfall!!Sounds great eh? Sure does, because every newbie into the waterfall got a rather cold welcome,yup a water splash! It was so cold the water that you would freeze in it.I was guided by my mate to the point where the water actually falls from the top, and was that a GOOOOOOOOOD massage!!
After all that fun, it was time to get back.We reached our camp and we were told that we had another activity waiting for us and that was........RAFTING!!!!!!!!!!
And it so happened we had the raft that was not that steady because it kept sanking and the worst part was my mate right behind me was attacked by a leach which was as long as your middle finger!!!!!!Wow!!!Now, that's one thirsty leach!!!!!
We had fun falling into the water..but we managed to get third overall..yippee!!!!!
(to be continued)
