How much football means to me
The year has started off very much to my liking. And it is all because of football.
Here's what happened.
Not so long ago, I applied as a volunteer with Fulham FC, which involved me helping them for an hour or so before the match and I would actually get to watch that very match which I was helping out for free of charge.
And so I saw my first match in the UK at Craven Cottage.
The score was 4-3 to Fulham, coming back from 3-1 down with the winner scored in injury time.
And on Tuesday, I watched my first international friendly, just down the street from where I live at the Emirates Stadium.
Yes, the one with Brazil going down to Portugal two goals to nothing.
The samba was great, Cristiano Ronaldo mesmering us with his footwork and the crowd was just so lively.
60,000 footie fans altogether at the Emirates Stadium.
And I won a teeny tiny bet too. =)
Finally, yesterday, I actually played football after a long long long time.
Wasn't exactly warmed up, but nonetheless the company was superb.
Thanks Rama!
All in all, football does play a major part in my life, and I feel much happier actually being in action on the field rather than just criticizing kayu players.
That's all for now I guess.
PS
If 60,000 fans start a Mexican wave, do we get to call it a Mexican Tsunami since it's that big?
=)
